1. Introduction

SurfCom is a national Surf Communication Management System that has been developed by Surf Life Saving Australia Ltd for implementation in Surf Rescue Communications Centres (SurfComs) around the country.

SurfCom has a fully web-based front-end that has been built to integrate data into other SLSA systems including SurfGuard, Incident Reporting Database (IRD) and BeachSafe.

This integration maps the data gathered by SurfCom for patrols, incidents and statistics directly into the SurfGuard and IRD databases.
