1. Making your institution stand out

The main goal of our platform is to help you attract new collaborations. We designed this into SeedSprint’s features, which make your profile easily accessible, concise, and complete.
Sometimes less is more – with all the sections we encourage you to think like an entrepreneur and your potential corporate partner, who often may have just a few minutes to look through your profile. Highlight your achievements, main goals, technologies that stand out and are ready to roll out with the right partner.
Make use of our media support, where you can quickly upload images, videos, and other documents. Think of infographics, you might have slide decks, technology videos – anything that can grasp the attention of your viewer.

  1. Getting your technologies on the platform

Make sure that the information on your technologies is up to date. You can add them manually, or upload them from commonly used platforms, such as AUTM’s AIM, Flintbox, Inteum, KSS-Tracs, and MATP. If you’d like some help with the automatic upload of your technologies, including your own lists and files, please let us know, we may be able to speed up the process.

Make sure that you pay attention to what your potential partners – industry technology scouts – might be looking for. We’d advise you to add any published (non-confidential) materials related to the technology, such as patent applications, patents obtained, scientific literature. Don’t forget to include the milestones , and accurate description of the stage of the development of the technology as well as collaboration goals – these are very important for your potential partners to assess if the technology is ready for the next stage from their perspective.

Keywords are probably one of the most important part of your search optimization powers. Add the keywords that are specific to the technology. Think out of the box – how someone looking for new technologies to invest in would describe your technology and what would be their search terms?

  1. Making new connections

One of the most useful features of the platform, which moves the power into your hands in Search . You don’t have to wait to be contacted by the industry partners, you can easily reach out to them. If you have particular companies in mind just type their name in the search box. If you cannot find the company you are looking for let us know t.com/contact_us/new , we might be able to invite them to join the platform. If you are looking for less obvious collaboration partners type in the broad keywords that describe your technology from the industry point of view, such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, computing. Make sure you check the relevant filters such as Corporate.
You can read more about the Search options and optimization in the Navigation’s Menu: Search part of this user guide.

Once you find your potential partner, you can reach out to them directly. This can be done by sending them your technology profile with a couple of sentences of introduction (if they are not the full subscribers) or sending them a direct message through the platform (if they are full subscribers). When sending your technologies, pay special attention to the_ keywords_ you are adding to the message. These will determine the specific person that will receive the message within the company and increase the chance that someone can get back to you quickly. If you reached out and no one got back to you in a reasonable time, let us know we can double-check that the company got your message and speed things up.

  1. Making use of secure data rooms

Data rooms are a free feature of SeedSprint. They allow you to securely store and share confidential data including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with your new partners. As you know, having secure data rooms either through our platform or with other providers is necessary to conduct business with the industry. Make sure you are ready to go and can quickly issue NDAs and send secure information, this will help you build a good relationship with your partners efficiently. You can read more on data rooms and secure document storage and sharing in the Navigation Menu: Secure Data Management part of this user guide. Please, let us know if you need more help with setting this part up.
