Channel Setup

Under the Connections / Channels, the setup of each Channel can be done:

Channel Setup Fields

Code Code of the Channel Is setup upon creation by Roomer Support and can not be changed
Company Sets the Company that is per default connected to the Channel Only active companies can be selected
Currency Sets the Currency for the specific Channel This overrules the Hotel Native Currency and the Default Rate Currency
Confirmation Email Checkbox Determines if an email should be send by the PMS when the reservation is processed Checked means yes, unchecked means no
Template selector Sets the template to use for sending the confirmation email only existing templates can be selected
Cancellation Email Checkbox Determines if an email should be send by the PMS the cancellation is processed Checked means yes, unchecked means no
Template selector Sets the template to use for sending the cancellation email only existing templates can be selected
Pre-arrival Checkbox Determines if an email should be send by the PMS before arrival of the reservation Checked means yes, settings for the pre-arrival mail are managed under Guest Communication
Template selector Sets the template to use for sending a pre-arrival email only existing templates can be used
Post departure Checkbox Determines if an email should be send by the PMS after departure of the reservation Checked means yes, settings for the post departure mail are managed under Guest Communication
Template selector Sets the template to use for sending a post departure email only existing templates can be used
Send hotel notification email checkbox Determines if a copy of the emails should be sent to the hotel The mail address under Hotel information is used for sending

How to setup a Channel

  1. Determine if the prices on the Channel (e.g. booking.com) should be in the same currency as the Hotel Native Currency (or when set the Default Rate Currency). If not, select the applicable Currency for the Channel.
    1. all prices fr this Channel will be displayed in the set Currency on the Rates & Availability Calendar and send to the Channel in the set Currency
    2. The prices are calculated with the exchange rate as set under Currencies
  2. If desired, check the box for Confirmation Email
    1. The result will be that for each reservation that is made via this Channel, the PMS will send a Confirmation email to the Guest (regardless if the Channel also sends a Confirmation to the Guest).
  3. Select the template to use for the Confirmation Email on this Channel
  4. If desired, check the box for Cancellation Email
    1. The result will be that for each Cancellation that is made via this Channel, the PMS will send a Cancellation email to the Guest (regardless if the Channel also sends a Cancellation to the Guest).
  5. Select the template to use for the Cancellation Email on this Channel
  6. If desired, check the box for ‘Send Hotel Notification Email’
    1. The result will be that for all send emails (conformation or cancellation), for this channel, the hotel will receive a copy too.
    2. The mails will be send to the mail address as set on the Hotel Information page.
  7. Click ‘Save’
    1. The changes are saved
    2. The PMS shows a green bar on top, indicating saving was successful
    3. The Channel Settings are closed

Activating / Deactivating a Channel

Active Channels are displayed in the list with the button on green. By changing the switch it will turn red and the Channel will be deactivated.
When red and switched, it will turn green and be activated. Mind that Channels where a mapping is active can not be deactivated, the Channel will display a warning.
