All table management and data modeling done in Ninox is done in using the tools available in the Table Management Screen. This screen is displayed in it’s default view in the image below.
The Table Management Screen (or window) is broken into three sections as follows:
The Table Options and Parameter section is used to name the field and set its over-arching parameters including name, icon, read/write status and auto-triggers. This section is highlighted in the image below.
The next section is in the middle of the window; this is the data model (field layout or Schema) of the table. It is in this section that we see the field, formula and screen element components that make up the table as a whole. This section is highlighted in the image below.
The third section contains all of the components available for the construction of the table. These elements include fields, formula placeholders, layout elements, and table references. Each of these sections is accessed and displayed by clicking on its accordion slider as highlighted in the image below.
All table components are available in any of the three sections available. The default view for the Table Management window is to display the Field components. The other two components are Layout Elements and Table References. These sections are displayed in the image below. (Please note that the table options that appear in the Table Links section vary depending on the data schema and model of your particular database application).
