Migrate a hand-picked list of files, from any number of sources, to a single destination

Multi-Source Migration migrates a specific list of files to one destination. The list is a CSV exported from the Files report, and it can reference files from any number of SharePoint sites, OneDrive accounts and file shares in the same file. Each file is migrated regardless of which source it came from; they all land in the destination you choose.

How it works

  1. In the Files report, filter the File details table down to the files you want and export them to CSV.
  2. Attach that CSV to an action in the Job list and set the Migration Source Type to Precision List (CSV).
  3. Choose the destination (Nextcloud Team or User, SharePoint Library, OneDrive, or FileShare).
  4. Run the job. Each file’s folder path is recreated at the destination from its Relative Path.

Step 1 — Export the files from the File details table

Narrow the File details table to exactly the files you want using the page slicers and filters, then use the standard Power BI export button in the top-right corner of the table to export those rows to CSV.

The exported CSV contains each file’s reference — filename, path and Relative Path — and may include files from SharePoint, OneDrive and FileShare sources in the one file.

Step 2 — Attach the CSV to a job and set the source to Precision List (CSV)

Create or edit an action in the Job list, attach the exported CSV, and set the Migration Source Type to Precision List (CSV). The job migrates exactly the files listed in the CSV.

Step 3 — Choose a destination

The destination is the same set available to any other migration:

  • Nextcloud Team
  • Nextcloud User
  • SharePoint Library
  • OneDrive
  • FileShare

How folder structure is recreated at the destination

For each file, the destination folder path is rebuilt from the Relative Path column — the path of the file relative to the starting point of its original source scan. Files therefore keep their folder layout at the destination even though they were gathered from different sources.

Nextcloud Team destinations — columns and views

When the destination is a Nextcloud Team folder:

  • Every metadata column referenced by the listed files is created on the team folder and populated.
  • The corresponding views are created on the team folder.
