Living Future recognizes that not every manufacturer will have the capacity to prepare and submit a Declare label for publication. Therefore, Living Future allows second and third parties to prepare a Declare label on behalf of the manufacturer. This outside party determines its own fees and timelines, separate from the Declare label fees and review time tables. Living Future will not provide recommendations to manufacturers for specific preparers.
If the Declare label is prepared by one of Declare’s approved third-party verifiers, that same organization may perform the verification of that label, so long as the individual who performs the verification is different from the individual who prepared the label.
It is the expectation that second and third-party preparers are competent for the functions they perform, including having a detailed understanding of the Declare Manufacturer’s Guide, Declare guidance resources, the Declare Terms and Conditions, and that they stay current with the quarterly updates to the Declare Manufacturer’s Guide. If a preparer requires significant support beyond the standard review, they must attend one of Declare’s regularly scheduled office hours. If a meeting is needed outside of those office hours, preparers must schedule a virtual meeting with a member of the Living Future Materials team. Virtual meetings outside of Declare’s office hours will be billed at $250 USD per hour, in increments of 60 minutes, and with a one-hour minimum fee. Labels submitted by this preparer will not be published until any incurred fees are paid.
