Overview

Follow the steps below setup BRAINware on your Sony Bravia professional display. Will only work with Sony Bravia Pro BZ35F & BZ40H models only.

Process

  1. Enable IP Control of the display
  2. Install ES File Explorer from the Google Play Store
  3. Insert USB stick into your display
  4. Open ES File Explorer
  5. Select the SD Card option
    • This should be the USB drive option

Installing Google Chrome to display

  1. Select the com.android.chrome file from the USB drive
  2. Select the install option from within the pop-up screen
    • An overlay will appear with the text ‘Do you want to install this application? It does not require any special access’
  3. Select install from the bottom of this pop-up
  4. Select Done when Chrome has been successfully installed

Installing Kramer Control

  1. Select the kramer_control.apk file from the USB drive
  2. Select the install option from within the pop-up screen
    • An overlay will appear with the text ‘Do you want to install this application? It does not require any special access’
  3. Select install from the bottom of this pop-up
  4. Select Done when Kramer Control has been successfully installed

Installation cont.

A keyboard and mouse will need to be connected to the display to finish the rest of the setup process

  1. Select the Home button on the Sony remote
  2. Select Settings from the on screen menu
  3. Select Apps from this list
  4. Select Kramer Control from the app list
  5. Select Sign-in
  6. Accept the Chrome option
  7. Select ‘No Thanks’
    • The user does not need to sign-in to Chrome to use Kramer Control
  8. Enter your Kramer Control username and password
  9. Once the username and password have been entered, select Login

BRAINware Activation

In order to complete the activation process, you will need a BRAINware activation code. You will need to contact ghamo@kramerav.com to receive your code

  1. Inside Kramer Control select the three dot menu from the top right corner of the screen
  2. Select the BRAINware option
  3. Enter Activation code
  4. Select the option to Activate
    • The BRAINware option will turn on once Activated

Project Provisioning

  1. Inside the Kramer Control application select the Project from the left side of the screen
  2. Expand the Project to show the list of Spaces that have been built within the selected Project
  3. Tap the Provision button
  4. Choose the BRAINware option from the right side of screen
  5. A Warning popup will appear on screen, select the Yes, Provision option from this popup
  6. Once the Provision is successful the Provision button will change to say Control

If you have followed the steps above correctly, selecting the Control option in the last step will show a list of User Interfaces that can be selected to open your Kramer Control remote

Kramer Control Launching

_You will need to download an APK file entitled Open Community Release and install using the steps below. Download Here

  1. Place USB stick into Display USB port
  2. Open ES File Explorer
  3. Navigate to the USB stick option
  4. Select the ‘app-opencommunity-release.apk’ file
  5. Select Install option from within pop up window
    • An overlay should appear on screen with a confirmation message to complete the installation
  6. Select Install from the bottom of the above popup
  7. Select Done once the installation is finished

Enabling Kramer Control as a launchable application

  1. Select the Home button on the remote control
  2. Select the TV App Repo application from the Home screen
    • TV App Repo will need to access the apps in the display that have been previously installed. When asked to all TV App Repo to grant access to files select the Allow option
  3. Scroll down and left and select Leanback Shortcuts
  4. Scroll right until you locate Kramer Control
  5. Select Kramer Control
  6. Select Create Shortcut
    • This could take 20 seconds to complete
  7. Within new popup that appears on screen select the Install option
    • You may see a new popup, ‘Google Play Project’ TV App Repo Allow installation from this source, appear on your screen. Select the Allow option if this popup appears
  8. Select the Home option on the remote to return to normal operation

If you have followed each of the steps above correctly, the Kramer Control application will have been successfully installed and the Kramer Control application will support the launch function using the Rest API driver in the Kramer Control Builder

Known Issues

  • If the Kramer Control application is force closed, BRAINware will be turned off within the application. If this happens you will need to re-enable BRAINware by selecting the three dot menu a top right side of the screen and selecting the BRAINware menu option
