Overview

In version 2.9 of Kramer Control we are releasing a new feature called PWA. PWA stands for Progressive Web Application and this will be a wrapper of our :8000 webpage where we show the interface for local control of the space.

What is a Progressive Web Application

A PWA or Progressive Web Application is a web based application that can be used in place of a native application. Kramer Control uses native applications on iOS and Android devices and for each update to Kramer Control we also need to update our client applications. Using a PWA, we can bundle the native application with the firmware update of the Brain. We can also remove the need to download the application from Google Play and Apple App Stores.

The Kramer Control PWA will be a similar experience to using our native web client that has been available since version 1.0 of Kramer Control. All users could open a web browser and browser to :8000 and interact with a programmed GUI. The PWA will be a similar experience to this.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected an issue where Brain logs were not immediately available if logs were cleared from Brain UI or after a clear cache command is sent
  • Corrected an issue where Zoom Rooms would not connect over Remote Access
  • Updated internal code library that was out of date. This library affects multiple areas of the code including memory, device driver communication, and client interface interaction between the Brain and clients
