This is the Add icon.
  1. Click the Add Permission Group button in the top-right corner of the Permission Group list. A New Permission Group screen will open.

The General Settings Tab

  1. Enter a name and a description for the new Permission Group in the Group Name and Group Description fields.
  2. To add member Permission Groups to this Permission Group, click on Search for member groups to open a drop-down list of existing Permission Groups. Find and click on a Permission Group. As soon as you select a member group, another list will appear so you can make another selection (if needed).
    1. Press Esc if you don’t need to make another selection.
    2. To remove a Permission Group, click the X to the right of the member group name.
  1. You may add individual members, if needed. (If you need to pull one or more users from an external system, use the External Group Mappings tab for that.)
  2. When all of your group members have been selected, click on the System Wide Settings tab to continue configuring the Permission Group.

The System Wide Settings Tab

  1. Since this Permission Group is going to be a Monitor group, mark the Monitor Group radio button. This Permission Group will have view-only access to data across the entire Orchid Hybrid system, and all of the configured Orchid Recorders.
  2. You will also have the option to grant specific permissions to all of the cameras in the system. (Because of this, no granular permission settings are required for a Monitor group. You will notice that the Granular Permissions tab is now grayed out.)
    1. Click on any switch to turn on permissions for viewing live video, viewing playback (recorded) video, exporting video, PTZ control, and Talkdown.
    2. When the switch is pink or purple, permissions are on. When the switch is gray, permissions are off.
  3. When you are finished with System Wide Settings, click on the Other Permissions tab.

The Other Permissions Tab

With the Other Permissions tab, you have the option of granting access to the Library. Members of this group will be able to view and delete Library items. Members will also be able to create Library items for the cameras to which they have access.

  1. To configure Library access for this Permission Group, mark the checkbox to the right of the Library heading.

Finalizing the Group

  1. After all of the permissions are set, press the Save Group button.

Here is a view of a Monitor Group with individual users and one member group.
