Overview
RASCI-VS is a structured framework used to define and clarify the roles stakeholders play in an object or activity. It ensures everyone understands their responsibilities, improving coordination, accountability, and efficiency.
It answers key questions:
- Who does the work?
- Who owns the outcome?
- Who supports or contributes?
- Who needs to be informed or consulted?
- Who verifies and approves?
Why Use RASCI-VS?
Using RASCI-VS helps your organization:

RASCI-VS Roles Explained
| Role | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| R | Responsible | The person(s) who perform the work or make decisions. Multiple stakeholders can share this role. |
| A | Accountable | The owner of the task or outcome. Responsible for final approval and sign-off. Only one accountable role is recommended. |
| Su | Support | Provides resources or assistance to complete the work. |
| C | Consulted | Provides input before work is completed. Actively involved in discussions. |
| I | Informed | Kept up to date on progress or decisions but not directly involved. |
| V | Verifier | Ensures the output meets defined acceptance criteria. |
| Si | Signatory | Gives final authorization after verification and approves hand-off. |
Notifications
Any user assigned within an object’s RASCI-VS (via their Role or Resource) will:
- Be required to confirm when the object is published.
- Receive notifications for:
- Collaboration posts
- Replies and updates

Users assigned as Accountable (A) can perform the following actions:
How to Assign Responsibilities (RASCI-VS)
You can assign Organization Units, Roles, Resources, and Assets to most EPC objects (excluding Sets and Folders).
1, Open the Responsibilities Section
- In the Create or Edit form, locate the “What are the responsibilities?” accordion
- Expand the section to begin
2. Find a Stakeholder
- Start typing a name in the search bar
- Results update automatically as you type.
- (Optional) Use Filter Type to narrow results by object type (e.g. role)
- Select the desired stakeholder. It will appear in the grid below
- By default, each new stakeholder is assigned R (Responsible)
- Alternatively, you can use the tree selector to navigate the organization structure
- In the tree selector, you can select an existing item or create a new one.
3. Assign or Modify Responsibilities
- Click the R box
- Select or deselect roles as needed (R, A, Su, C, I, V, Si)
4. Add More Stakeholders (Optional)
- Repeat the search or hierarchy selection process
- Add as many stakeholders as needed
5. Remove a Stakeholder
- Click the red X next to their name to remove them
6. Save Your Changes
- Once all responsibilities are assigned, save the form.
