The Move function lets you change where an object lives in a module without changing its content. Use it to reorganize, realign, or adapt structures while keeping all relationships and history intact.
How to Move an Object
- Open the object’s Details page.
- In the Edit dropdown, select “Move”
- Choose the new parent object.
- Select “Move” to confirm.

Permissions
- Users need at least Write permission to be able to move objects.
Lock
- You cannot move an object that another user is editing. A lock error will appear (see Edit Lock)
- Moving a process to a parent that is being edited is also blocked with the same error.
- Moving other objects into a parent that is being edited is allowed. No lock error appears.
