12.1.4.1.1 Import EPC Content

Use the Import feature to bring data from another EPC environment into your current environment.

!Only system admins and environment admins with the proper authorization can import documentation. See this page.

How to Import an EPC File

1. From the main navigation toolbar, click the three-dot menu and select Import.

2. Choose EPC (.epc) and click Browse to select your file.

3. The selected file will appear in the import window.

4. If the import file contains published objects, you will be asked whether to overwrite duplicates:
   • Overwrite: Combines duplicate objects into your environment.
   • Unchecked Overwrite: Duplicate objects in your current EPC environment will be duplicated.

*Duplicate objects must have the same object UID (unique number assigned when created) and originate from the same EPC environment.

5. You will also be prompted whether to publish objects upon import.

6. Click Finish to start the import process.

7. Once the import is complete, a confirmation notification will appear.

8. All imported objects will appear in their respective modules.

*You can also import UDAs and their content while preserving the difference between Environment vs System UDAs.

Localization Import

EPC Import supports localized processes. For details, see localization.

!When importing a file with localized content, it is recommended to create the same localization values in the target environment to ensure proper mapping. The system will verify if the same values exist; if not, it will create new localization values and import the localized copies accordingly.
