12.1.2.3 Create Objects

Users can create objects and organize them in a hierarchical Parent–Child structure. Objects can be created in EPC three simple ways: using the Create button, from the Details page of an object or folder, or by right-clicking in the hierarchical tree.

Creating Objects with the Create Button

1. Click the Create button on the top-right of the page.
2. In the drop-down menu, choose the module where you want to create an object and click the icon.
3. Click the object you want to create.

4. Fill in the general object details.
   • Name
   • Parent
     

     **If you create an object while viewing a folder of the same type (e.g., creating a Document while on a Document Folder), the parent field is assigned automatically. You can change it by clicking Select a Parent.

   • Unique ID
   • Description
5. Depending on the object you create, different fields and accordions will appear, allowing you to assign related objects. For details, see the links below:
   • Input Performance objects information
   • Input Organization objects information
   • Input Documents objects information
   • Input Risk objects information
   • Input Control objects information
   • Input Rule objects information

6. Click Add & Close. You’ll be redirected to the Details page of your new object.

Creating Objects from the Details Page

1. Select the Object or Folder under which the new object will be created.
2. Open the Details page of the selected Object or Folder.
3. Click the button and choose object you want to create.

4. Fill in the details in the form.
   

   **If you wish to change the parent, click on Select a Parent.

5. Click Add & Close.

Creating Objects with the Tree Right-Click

1. Navigate to the module where you want to create a new object.
2. Right-click on an Object or Folder in the tree.
   

   **The new object will be created as the child of the select Object or Folder.

3. Select New [Object].

4. Fill in the details in the form.
5. Click Add & Close.
