Create smarter, modular documentation by reusing approved content across your Word files in EPC. With dynamic references, you can pull content from existing documents instead of duplicating it—ensuring consistency, reducing maintenance effort, and keeping everything aligned.

Simply insert special @@merge:UID tags in your Word document before uploading it to EPC. Whenever you preview, print, or download the document, EPC dynamically inserts the most current content from the referenced files in place of the tags. No manual updates needed.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Hands-Off Maintenance: Eliminate manual copy-pasting. Referenced content updates automatically, even across revisions, without needing to re-upload or edit the document.
  • Scalable & Flexible Referencing: Add unlimited references to build modular, complex documents with ease.
  • Built-In Traceability: All linked references appear in the document’s Impact Table in EPC, showing the relationship between documents with full visibility.

Getting Started is Easy

  1. In your Word document, insert the @@merge:UID tag exactly where you want content from another EPC document to appear.
  2. Replace UID with the EPC UID number of the document you want to reference (for example: @@merge:B4B498A4-FA6F-403D-AE28-B5DD0E5D23AB).
    • Ensure the referenced document is published.
  3. Upload the document to EPC.
  4. From now on, whenever you preview, print, or download this document, EPC will automatically pull in the latest content from the referenced documents.
