7.3 Endorsement Cycle

The endorsement cycle is a collaborative review stage in the lifecycle of an EPC object. It occurs after content has been created or modified but before it is formally approved or published.

The endorsement cycle allows multiple stakeholders to validate the content from different perspectives before it moves forward in the lifecycle. This helps reduce errors and ensures that the object is ready for the approval cycle, which typically follows endorsement.

*To enforce governance cycles before content publication, EPC objects automatically inherit cycles from their parent objects when they are created. This setting can be deactivated by a System Admin in the advanced system settings”

*To configure an Endorsement cycle, users need to have Write permission on the object and their displayed content is set to Latest.

Parallel Cycle Type

Endorsements are executed as a Parallel cycle in which endorsement requests are sent simultaneously to all endorsers. Each endorser can choose to endorse or not endorse the specified object. The endorsement status of the object can be monitored throughout the cycle, and the cycle may be halted by an authorized user.

Example:
A request for endorsement is sent to multiple product owners before the object is forwarded for approval to C-level executives.

Configuring an Endorsement Cycle

1. Access the Endorsement Configuration Form
   • Navigate to the Details view of the desired object.
   • Click on the box.
   • Choose Endorsement from the drop-down menu.

2. Assign Endorsers
   • Filter the suggestions for Resources, Roles, or RASCI-VS (e.g., the object’s assigned Accountable user(s) will be endorsers)
   • Type the name of the desired endorser(s) in the text box. As you type, a drop-down will appear with suggestions based on key wording.
     • You can also use the tree selector ( ) to browse the Organization hierarchy.
   • Expand Suggested Endorsers to apply recommended endorsers from similar objects.

3. View Resources within Roles
   • To see which resources are part of a role, expand the role using the + button.

4. Edit Endorsers
   • Reorder endorsers using drag-and-drop button ( )
   • Remove endorsers using the X button.
   • Click the Apply changes to all children checkbox to apply this configuration to all sub-objects.
5. Click Save to confirm the configuration.
