Major concerns about individual student behavior or academic performance should be communicated to the respective principal prior to discussing the concern with the LEAP Director, resource teacher or parent. Interventions will be suggested and tried in a timely fashion. Should testing or tutoring be needed, the respective principal and LEAP Director will assist in coordinating the process.
All documentation in the testing process and resulting reports should be directed to the principals and LEAP Director. These are legal documents and should be kept with the cumulative records; faculty should not keep copies.
Teachers are expected to be aware of special needs of students. Accommodations and/or modifications should be made according to the student’s Academic Support Plan and in cooperation with the administration.
