The Scribe Tabs function is used to adapt countertops to uneven walls, especially when a backsplash is applied. This feature offsets the countertop from the wall to ensure easier fitting and simplified production when you have an open end.

To use it:

  • In this example, the piece has an open end on both sides and is going to have backsplashes, so we need to add the scribe tabs.
  • Click on the ‘Scribe Tabs’ function from the change ribbon in Flexijet Stone.
  • Enter an offset distance.
  • Define the length of the steps that will be created at the ends of the polyline. (Larger values are recommended when the wall surface is more irregular.)
  • Click on the polyline, and confirm.
  • Select the offset side.
  • The scribed Tab will be generated.

Along with the “Scribe Tabs” function, the Simplify Polyline function can be used to reduce the number of segments in your polyline.

If your piece does not have an open end, you must use the Maximum Tolerance function.
