This function projects selected elements along a perpendicular direction from a chosen reference plane onto a target plane. It ensures that the elements maintain their relative orientation to the reference plane while being accurately transferred to the target plane.
Example: Slope frame in a corner with one curved wall.
In this example, the final position of the frame was unknown at the time of measuring. So a line was measured approximately at the desired distance (pink line).
How to measure for using this function:
- Measure all the information that could be needed, as the walls, the floor, the ceiling, etc.
- For the scribe line to be projected, create a separate 3D folder, and then measure the scribe approximately where your final piece will be.
How to use the function:
- Define your free plane, where it needs to be. In this case, it is the Green.
- With the target plane (in this case, the free plane) selected, activate the function ‘Project Elements Perpendicular to Plane’ from the ‘Change’ ribbon under the Lengthen line drop-down menu.
- Select the reference perpendicular folder to which the elements will be projected from in the ‘Project Explorer’. (In this example, this reference folder could be the floor)
- Turn on visibility to the 3D folder with the scribe element to be projected, and then select the element to be projected and click confirm.
- The function will create a projected copy (Blue line) of the selected elements perpendicular to the target folder.
