Measure Door button in FlexiCAD

The “Door” room element has two main variants: “Relevant for planning” and “Not relevant for planning”. In addition, there’s the option for “Inswing Door” and “Outswing Door”. You define the settings for “Door not relevant for planning” in FlexiCAD. These settings then apply to all the other “Not relevant for planning” doors.
For example, in an apartment where all doors have the same construction, you can enter the dimensions once. The measurement is therefore faster because you only have to measure the door itself.

When you select this command, an input menu opens up. In the image below, you can see how the dimensions must be entered.

The door depth is the thickness of the door. The “door casing width” is the visible part of the door casing when the door is closed. The best way to determine the “width
difference value to door” is to mark the opening of the closed door and then measure up to the inner edge of the lining (clear doorway).

Command sequence for a “door not relevant for planning” that opens inwards:

  • Door: measure first point on door (close to hinges). Take a measurement point on the door near the hinges to define the door’s swing direction.
  • Door: Measure points on circumference (Finish with ESC, or double measurement) Take all the necessary measurement points on the edge of the door itself. As a rule, three measurement points are sufficient: Left, up and right. A bottom measurement is not necessary. The command remains active until you either press “Esc” or measure the same point twice (double measurement).
  • Press “Esc” and you will get the next message again: Measure first point on door (close to hinges). The first door has been completed, and you can now measure further doors on this plane or exit the command with “Esc”.

Command sequence for a “door not relevant for planning” that opens outwards:

  • Measure first point on inside edge of doorway (close to hinges) With the first measurement point on the inside of the lining, you also determine the swing of
    the door.
  • Pathway inside: Measure points on circumference (Finish with ESC, or double measurement). Here you only need three measuring points again. The command remains active until you cancel it.

Doors relevant to planning

When measuring a “Door relevant to planning”, each construction detail is measured individually. This way you will have the greatest possible accuracy.
If you want to select the command “Door relevant to planning” in your Flexijet, it may need to be selected under the “Door not relevant for planning” button. Long-press the button to get the command under it.

Command sequence for a “door relevant for planning” that opens inwards:

  • Door: Measure point on the door leaf side (near the hinges). Take a measurement point near the hinges.
  • Door: measure points on circumference (Finish with ESC, or double measurement). Take all the necessary measurement points on the edge of the door itself. As a rule, three measurement points are sufficient. Left, up and right. At the bottom is not necessary. (The door will automatically be extended to meet the floor level of the room). Then press “Esc”.
  • Door: measure the depth point and then Distance to plane = 1.325. Take one or more measuring points on the back of the door using a target, or by opening the door and measuring on the door stop and then press “Esc”.
  • Door casing: measure points on the Circumference (Finish with ESC, or double measurement). Take all the necessary measurement points on the outer edge of the door casing. Then press “Esc”.
  • Door casing: measure the depth point” and Distance to plane = .625“. Take on or more measuring points on the door casing and then press “Esc”.
  • _Doorway: measure points on the circumference (Finish with ESC, or double measurement)”. Take all the necessary measuring points on the inner surface of the door jamb/opening. The press “Esc”.
  • The first door is now completed. You can now measure further doors on this plane or exit the command with “Esc”.
