FOLOW THE BELOW STEPS, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT USE THESE PAY TYPES. YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PROCESS ANY PAY RUNS UNTIL THE BELOW STEPS ARE FOLLOWED

Click Pay Types from the Side Bar

Select the Pay Rate to edit which will be highlighted in red (click once to highlight).

Click Edit.

  1. What’s in the current Tax Treatment drop-down menu? – If the current Tax Treatment is
    1. Back Pay up to 12 months (Tax Averaged over whole year) or
    2. Bonus (Tax Averaged Over Whole Year) or
    3. Bonus (Tax Averaged Period to Date, Progressive Basis),
    4. Commission (Tax Averaged Period to Date, Progressive Basis) or
    5. Other (Back Pay, Bonus, Commission etc) (Taxed at Marginal Rate),
      1. Even if you do not or never will use it click on the Tax Treatment drop-down menu and scroll through the list, which is alpabetical order, and select from the BELOW required options,
        1. Back Payment, Commission, Bonus or similar payment (Schedule 5 – Method A)
        2. Back Payment, Commission, Bonus or similar payment (Schedule 5 – Method B (i))
        3. Back Payment, Commission, Bonus or similar payment (Schedule 5 – Method B (ii))
  2. What’s in the current Tax Treatment drop-down menu? – If the current Tax Treatment is
    1. Annual Leave (Cashed Out) (Taxed at Marginal Rate) or
    2. Annual Leave and Loading (Cashed Out) (Taxed at Marginal Rate) (Super on 100%),
      1. Even if you do not or never will use it click on the Tax Treatment drop-down menu and scroll through the list, which is alpabetical order, and select from the BELOW required options,
        1. Annual Leave Cashed Out – Schedule 5, Method A
        2. Annual Leave Cashed Out – Schedule 5, Method B (ii)
  3. What’s in the current Tax Treatment drop-down menu? – If the current Tax Treatment is Employment Termination Payment, Transitional ETP (Taxed at 17%) (ETP) click on the Tax Treatment drop-down menu and scroll through the list, which is alpabetical order, to select Employment Termination Payment, Life benefit (Taxed at 17%) (ETP)
  4. What’s in the current Tax Treatment drop-down menu? – If the current Tax Treatment is Employment Termination Payment, Transitional ETP (Taxed at 32%) (ETP) click on the Tax Treatment drop-down menu and scroll through the list, which is alpabetical order, to select Employment Termination Payment, Life benefit (Taxed at 32%) (ETP)
  5. What’s in the current Tax Treatment drop-down menu? – If the current Tax Treatment is Employment Termination Payment, Transitional ETP (Taxed at 47%) (ETP) click on the Tax Treatment drop-down menu and scroll through the list, which is alpabetical order, to select Employment Termination Payment, Life benefit (Taxed at 47%) (ETP)
  6. If required, change the following fields
    1. Accruals
      1. Long Service Leave
      2. Annual Leave
      3. Superannuation (OTE)
      4. RDO’s
      5. Personal Leave
  7. Click Save then Exit.
  8. Repeat the above steps for all obsolete Tax Treatments which will be highlighted in red.
