Creating a release

When creating a release, all mandatory fields must be completed and saved. Upon saving, the release is created with a status of “New”. If Business Tasks are associated during creation, the release status is automatically updated to “In Progress”, indicating active development and coordination.

General

Contains standard fields of Status, Type, Path, Target, Description. Custom fields can be added to the general tab as required

Custom Tab – “Release_Basis”

Custom tabs are created by ActiveControl administrators within the admin section of ActiveControl and multiple field types are supported

Business Tasks

Authorised users can associate or remove business tasks (and there associated transport form) to the release. These business tasks/transports will then be managed by the release process.

History & Attachments

Provides full historical activity list of the release, and associated attachments on the release.
Note the list will not display history details of associated business tasks, this information will be available in the business task

Schedule & Reoccurrence

The Recurrence feature in ActiveControl allows users to define and manage repeating release cycles, supporting continuous delivery and predictable deployment schedules. This is especially useful for organizations that follow regular release cadences (e.g.,Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) across SAP environments.
