Follow these steps to expand your arrangement by adding a new instrument to it:

Add a new instrument
Figure 3.3.2: The auto–connect icon on the desktop tool bar and the Pulverisateur icon on the device library.

  1. Click the auto-connect icon on the desktop tool bar to activate its function. Note: Active icons are shown in cyan and inactive ones in gray.
  2. Click the hide/show panels button on the time-line bar to show the panels.
  3. With the “+” tab on the panel area active, drag the first icon in the “Synths” category (the icon has a tool-tip that reads “Pulverisateur”) on the device library to an empty area on the desktop to add an instance of this instrument to your arrangement. Audiotool might show again the time-line. Note: You can only release new devices on empty areas of the desktop; Red borders indicate a forbidden overlap.
  4. Make sure that there is a cable connected to the output of your instrument. Hover over this cable and check that its tool-tip reads “Pulverisateur Audio Output > Centroid Input 6”. Note: The cable was created by the auto-connect function when you added the instrument to the arrangement to automatically connect your instrument’s output to the next available input of the “Centroid” main mixer.
