This dialog box lets you set various application preferences including latency reduction, alert resets and plug-in caching.

Figure: the “Settings” dialog box.

  1. Audio: When you check this check-box, Audiotool reduces playback latency by allowing the sound rendering engine to use more processing power. Once you start playback, this option will show your current normal and best latency values in milliseconds. Depending on the processing power of your computer, checking this option can degrade its performance.
  2. Dialog alerts: This button resets all information and warning alerts to be shown again.
  3. Cache: The Adobe Flash™ player can store binary data on your hard disk. When you check this check-box, loaded plug-ins will be saved in a local cache, thus loading much faster the next time that you start Audiotool.
  4. Done: This button makes your setting changes effective.
