The cross-fade section provides controls to set the volume of each input signal in the output mix and the shape of the decay in volume as you cross-fade between them.

  1. Slope: This selector sets the shape of the decay in volume of the input signals as you drag the cross-fade slider away from them. In the smooth position, the amplitude of each input signal undergoes a slightly logarithmic decay over the whole slider range. In the linear overlap position, each input signal has full amplitude until halfway, then decays linearly. In the linear position, the amplitude of each input signal decays linearly over the whole slider range.
  2. Cross-fade: This slider sets the volume of each input signal in the mix. At the center, both input signals have the same volume. Drag the slider to the left or right to reduce the volume of the other input signal in the mix.
