The step sequencer section provides controls to clear the current pattern and edit the step sequence of the selected instrument in the current pattern.
- Scale: This button sets the duration of steps. Each click selects the next scale. The lowest scale sets it to a 16th note duration, the second scale to a 32nd note duration, the third scale to an 8th triplet note duration and the highest scale to a 16th triplet note duration. Note: You can also select a step duration scale by clicking its selection light.
- Clear: This button clears the contents of the current pattern. Note: When you clear a pattern, its length is reset to 16 steps, its step duration to a 16th note and its shuffle function disengaged.
- Shuffle on/off: This switch engages the shuffle function for the current pattern.
- Step: These switches create, accent or remove a hit for the current instrument in the current pattern at the corresponding step. Click a hit to accent it and click an accented hit to remove it. Note: You can create an accented hit directly by Shift-clicking.
