1. Application to meet committee – The Candidate contacts the Area Certification Committee Chair in writing to arrange a meeting with an Area Certification Committee subcommittee and sends a copy to the ACPE Director of Programs or designee.

2. Six-month extension – Area Certification Chairs have the discretion to grant an extension up to six months to accommodate the area certification committee meeting schedule.

3. Primary Educator Consultation – After each committee appearance of a Certified Educator Candidate for an extension, the primary educator for the student, or a student-approved educator’s designee, will consult with the committee.
