As of today, the Versions tab in the Manual Settings screen gives you more control over the order of your versions. In particular, it lets you configure which version is the default (= first) one, that is, the one that automatically ones when users visit your live manual.
Manula Changelog: What's New in the Manula software (Page 16)
Improved order of Save, Cancel and Delete buttons
A small tweak to make the order and naming of the topic editor buttons a bit more logical:
- The most important button, for saving and publishing your edits, is now on the bottom right and now called “Save and Publish”.
- The other two “saving-relating” buttons, Save as Draft and Cancel, are now next to it, also on the bottom right.
- The Delete button has been moved the bottom left.
Small tweak to the “Was this helpful?” ratings
Manula lets your manual readers rate your topics, using the “Was this helpful? YES/NO” buttons at the bottom of your live topics. The statistics on these ratings can provide helpful information for improving your manuals, especially when you get a high volume of ratings on your topics.

New: View and Restore older revisions of your topics
Many Manula users have asked for this one, so in the past few weeks we sat down and implemented it: a Topic Revisions system.

Fix: alignment of “Next Topic” links
Our recent tweak to the alignment of the Next/Prev Topic links caused some styling issues for users who had already manually aligned their Next Topic links to the right, e.g. using
p>. Next: {TOPIC-LINK-NEXT}
This has now been fixed.
New layout for Settings screens
Further improvements to the Settings screen, at both the Account level and the Manual level, to give both screens a more logical layout.

Small tweak: Alignment of Next / Previous links
Just a small tweaking to the styling of the Previous Topic and Next Topic links, these are now aligned to the left and right.

Fix: remembering topic “expanded/collapsed” state
A while ago we introduced the remembering of each topic’s state, whether it is collapsed or expanded, for both the live manuals and inside the manual editor.
However, one user reported that that didn’t work on Safari on Mac OS X.
Today we were able to reproduce and fix the problem. This feature should work on all supported browsers now!
Thanks to Pete from AgileBits for reporting this!
Improved top bar and ToC on mobile devices
Today we’ve implemented several improvements to the look and feel of your online manuals when viewed on small screen mobile devices.
- The Table of Contents that appears after clicking the button in the top bar now also supports the expanding and collapsing of topics, just like the normal ToC that appears in the sidebar on larger screens.
- The layout of the top bar has been improved (the navigation bar that contains the company logo and name, manual name, language selector, search bar and ToC button).

New: add a logo to your manual’s top bar
Multiple Manula customers have asked for this feature: the ability to add a logo to the top bar of live manuals (the navigation bar that shows the company name, manual name and search box). With some smart Custom CSS tweaking, this was already possible, but we decided to make this into an easy-to-use Customization setting.
It is now possible to upload a logo at both the Account Settings level (e.g. for a company logo for all your manuals), or at the Manual Settings level.
TIP: If you upload a company logo to appear in the top bar, you may want to uncheck the “Show Company Name in Top Bar” option in Manual Settings (depending on your logo of course).
Here’s an example of a live manual with the Company Logo in the top bar and the Company Name removed:
