To create and upload your own custom XSLT view for the Lightning Conductor Web Part use the following steps:

  1. Using the Lightning Conductor 2010 Configuration Wizard, select the Display Advanced Configuration Options check box.

  2. On the Core Configuration step, from the Display Provider list, select XSL Style Display Provider and the click Next.

  3. On the Configure Rollup Engine Provider step, in the Rollup Source section select a data source and any other configurations, for example, in the List/Items Types section select a List Type. Click Next.

  4. On the Configure Display Provider step:
  • In the XSL Styles section select one of the predefined styles and then click the cog icon Select the View XSL style source icon , to view the XSLT source.

    Right click View source if you are going to copy it

  • Right click and then select View Source. Copy the contents into Visual Studio or Notepad if you want to modify them, and save your XSLT to a file with either a .xsl or .xslt extension.

  • Click Choose File and then click the green plus icon Click the Green circle containing a white cross to upload your XSL to save your new style sheet file to the Style Library at the top level site of the site collection.

  • In the Choose XSL Style list, select the file you have just uploaded.

  • Configure any column, sorting or filtering requirements, and then click Complete.
