Arizona Reverse Transfer

Reverse transfer is the process of transferring university credits back to a community college for the purpose of fulfilling associate degree requirements. For Arizona students who have attended a participating community college, and transferred onto a participating Arizona university without first completing an associate degree, coursework can be transferred backwards (or in reverse). If a student completed missing associate degree coursework while attending a partnering university, those courses can be applied to the associate degree requirements back at a community college, and a degree can be awarded retroactively.

The Arizona-wide reverse transfer initiative aims to put credentials into the hands of eligible students who have not yet graduated from a community college or university. This allows students to:

• Increase their earning potential while in pursuit of their bachelor degree, and
• Have a back-up credential in the event that university education is interrupted, all with
• No interruption of university attendance!
