1. Content – The papers, directed to the theoretical “why” of supervision, include:

a. a theological/spiritual perspective position paper,
b. a personality theory position paper, and
c. an educational theory position paper.

2. Writing and submission – The Certified Educator Candidate can begin writing the papers at any point in the Certified Educator CPE experience. However, the papers cannot be submitted for review until Certified Educator Candidate status is conferred.

3. A paper passes if two of three readers grade it satisfactory. Any or all of the papers may be passed by the readers.

4. Certified Educator Candidates’ theory position papers must be approved by qualified ACPE readers before Candidates can request to appear for Associate Certified Educator certification. (ACPE Standard 407.4)
